TEM sample preparation for biological or soft materials (by plunge-freezing)

Samples can be preserved in vitreous or glass-like ice by rapid plunge-freezing in liquid nitrogen cooled liquid ethane. This short course teaches fundamentals of cryo-EM sample preparation by plunge-freezing and operation of the Vitrobot mark 4.
